Mrs. Ronda's
About Our Program

Montessori School Goals and Objectives

Mrs. Ronda's Montessori School is an environment that inspires children to develop inner discipline, self-assurance, and a love of learning! We respect the uniqueness of each student by helping each child develop skills at periods of greatest readiness and sensitivity.
Our program provides a creative and adaptive environment that responds to the needs of the children. We seek to balance academic and social development and to foster responsibility and cooperation. Each child learns at their own pace, therefore, each child gains self-confidence.
Our program is based on respect and the value of differences. We look with an open mind at all members of the community, seeking to understand and value them for who they are.

Our Mission
Mrs. Ronda's Montessori School encourages independent, self-directed learning for life in a child-centered, international community valuing peace, respect for others and pride in individual differences.  We honor each child's abilities and seek to enrich and enhance the total child.

Our Philosophy
Mrs. Ronda's Montessori School was founded in 1980 to foster a love of learning and to educate children to be caring, socially responsible citizens of their community and world. Our program involves children from two and a half years of age through second grade. We value diversity by welcoming people of differing races, cultures, economic and social backgrounds, etc. into a safe, accepting and respectful environment where we learn together.  Mrs. Ronda's Montessori School seeks to educate the whole child, applying the Montessori philosophy, in a family-oriented environment. The philosophy is based on the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952) whose holistic vision of education focuses on the cognitive, social, emotional, academic and physical needs of the child. For Dr. Montessori, and for Mrs. Ronda's Montessori School, education is preparation for life.

Maria Montessori believed that finding one’s place in the world, finding work that is meaningful and fulfilling, and developing the inner peace and depth of soul that allows us to love are the most important goals in life. A physician specializing in both pediatrics and psychiatry, Dr. Montessori realized that learning itself is a natural process. This idea and her belief that every child has vast potential sparked the basis for her educational philosophy and life’s work. Today, Montessori schools the world over have as their foundation her deep respect for children as unique individuals and her profound concern for their academic, social and emotional development.

At Mrs. Ronda's, every exercise, every method and every piece of equipment takes advantage of a child’s inherent desire to learn. Children are free to work in groups or on their own. They may sit at a table or move about the room. Here, the curriculum and teachers’ role are all carefully designed to honor self-paced growth while encouraging social cooperation. One interesting and unique thing about Montessori classes is the mixture of ages within the same class.  We mix the children from 2 1/2 to 5 years of age in a class and those from 5-9 years of age in a class.  The children learn a great deal from each other because they are able to both help younger children and learn from older children. This mixture of ages provides optimal academic stimulation and social interaction.
In our classrooms every day, students practice activities in practical skills, math, language, science, history, geography, art, writing and music. (We also offer sign language and Spanish.) Every day, children and adults honor kindness, compassion, mutual respect and peace.

By encouraging students to develop the independence and skills necessary to be self-sufficient in their classrooms, we prepare them to venture into the biggest classroom of all. They leave standing on an academic and social foundation that will support them throughout their lives!  They are independent, capable, organized, industrious, focused, motivated, and highly self-confident!
